How to use the Image Splitter
- Drop one or more images, paste a screenshot with Ctrl+V, or click to choose files.
- Pick a mode: Grid for rows and columns, Slice long image for screenshots and webtoons, or Poster print to spread one image over several sheets of paper.
- Use a preset such as Instagram 3 × 3 or Carousel 3 × 4:5, or set your own rows and columns and drag the lines where you want the cuts.
- Click any piece you do not need to leave it out. The numbers show the output order.
- Download the pieces as a ZIP, or the poster as a PDF with an assembly map and trim lines.
Three ways to split
Grid divides the picture into rows and columns. With "Keep the image as is" you can drag each cut line to any position; with a piece shape such as 1:1 or 4:5 the tool crops from the centre so every piece has exactly that shape. Slice long image cuts a tall screenshot or comic strip into pieces of a fixed height or width, with an optional overlap. Poster print keeps one scale across the whole image and spreads it over several pages of A4, Letter, A3 or Tabloid paper.
Frequently asked questions 7
How do I make an Instagram grid post?
Choose the Instagram 3 × 3 (or 3 × 2) preset. Pieces are cropped to squares and numbered in posting order: upload piece 1 first and the last piece last, and the full picture appears on your profile in the right place.
How do I make a seamless Instagram carousel?
Use Carousel 3 × 4:5. The image is cropped to three 4:5 portrait pieces side by side, the size Instagram shows in the feed, so swiping reveals one continuous panorama.
Can I cut a long screenshot into pages?
Yes. Choose Slice long image, set the piece height (for example 1920 px, or the A4 page button), and add a small overlap so a line of text is never cut in half. You can keep a shorter last piece or make all pieces equal.
How does poster printing work?
Pick the paper and how many pages across. The tool calculates how many pages down are needed, keeps the image at one scale, adds an overlap for gluing, and creates a PDF. Page 1 is a map showing where every page goes. Print at 100% or Actual size.
Does splitting reduce quality?
No. Pieces are cut from the original pixels. PNG output is lossless; JPG and WebP use the quality you choose (92 by default). You can also enlarge or shrink the pieces with the resize slider.
Are my images uploaded?
No. Everything happens in your browser, so private photos stay on your device. Location and camera data are not copied into the pieces.
Why are some pieces 1 pixel wider than others?
When the width does not divide evenly, the leftover pixels are spread across the pieces instead of being cropped away, so no part of your image is lost.
