Click a layer on the page to edit it, drag across empty space to select several, or Shift-click to add to the selection. Double-click text to type in place.

  • Arrows nudge 1 px, Shift+arrows 10 px
  • Shift while resizing keeps the shape; Alt resizes from the centre and moves without snapping
  • Shift while rotating turns in 15° steps
  • Ctrl+wheel zooms; Space+drag or middle mouse pans
  • Ctrl+C / Ctrl+V copies layers to any page

How to use the Design Canvas

  1. Pick a size under Page: Instagram post, portrait or story, YouTube thumbnail or banner, Open Graph link image, Pinterest pin, X post or header, LinkedIn banner, a 16:9 slide, or A4, Letter, A5 or A3 at 72 to 300 dpi. Any custom size in pixels works too.
  2. Add text, images, shapes and icons from the Add panel. Images can also be dropped on the page or pasted with Ctrl+V. Double-click a text to type in place.
  3. Drag to move. Pull a handle to resize (Shift keeps the proportions, Alt resizes from the centre) and the round handle above to rotate (Shift turns in 15 degree steps). Layers snap to the page edges, the centre and other layers, with guide lines; hold Alt to move freely.
  4. Style the selection in the panel on the right: font, size, weight, colour, line height, letter spacing, background box, outline and shadow for text; fill or fit, crop position, zoom, rounded corners, border, mirror and brightness, contrast, saturation, black and white or blur for photos; fill and outline for shapes and icons.
  5. Select several layers with Shift-click or by dragging across empty space, then align them, distribute them evenly or scale them together. The Layers tab lists every layer: drag to reorder, double-click to rename, and hide or lock layers there.
  6. Add pages from the strip under the canvas, duplicate or reorder them, and give each page its own size and background. Copy layers with Ctrl+C and paste them on another page.
  7. Export from the Export tab: PNG or JPG at 1x, 2x or 3x, SVG, one PDF with every page, or a GIF, WebP or video slideshow with a time per page. Your work is saved in this browser as you go; Save project file takes it to another device.

What it does well

What you see is what you export. The canvas is drawn with the same SVG code that writes your SVG and PNG files, so text breaks into the same lines and photos are cropped the same way in the file as on screen.

Real vector files. SVG export keeps text as text and embeds the fonts, and the PDF has vector shapes and icons with selectable text, at the exact page size, so print and zoom stay sharp.

Every page its own size. One project can hold an Instagram post, a story and a link preview image side by side, with layers copied between them. Changing a size can scale the layout with it.

Nothing to lose. Work is saved in your browser as you go, undo goes back up to 120 steps, and a single project file carries the whole design, images included, to another device.

Frequently asked questions 9

Are my photos and designs uploaded?

No. Images are read, edited and exported by your browser on your own device. The only things loaded from this site are the page itself, the fonts you use and, when you export a PDF or animation, the code that writes those files.

Where is my design saved?

The current design, including its images, is saved automatically in this browser's storage (IndexedDB) and comes back when you reopen the page. New design clears it, and so does clearing the site data in your browser. To move a design to another device or keep several, use Save project file: it downloads a .rlcanvas file, which is a ZIP with the layout as JSON plus your images. Open it with Open on any device. Images are stored without their camera data (such as GPS location).

What goes into my history when I am signed in?

Only the export settings: format, scale, number of pages and page sizes. Never your images, your text or the design name.

Which export formats are vector?

SVG keeps shapes, lines, icons and text as vector, with text as real, editable text and the bundled fonts embedded; photos are embedded as images. PDF has every page at its own size with shapes, lines and icons as vector paths and text in the bundled fonts as real, selectable text with the font embedded; text in device fonts or with a shadow is placed as a high-resolution image, and photos are embedded. PNG and JPG are pictures at 1x, 2x or 3x the page size, and GIF, WebP and video are pictures too.

Which fonts can I use, and may I use the designs commercially?

Nine font families are bundled: Poppins, PT Serif, DM Serif Display, Bebas Neue, Archivo Black, Pacifico, Patrick Hand, Space Mono and Gothic A1 for Korean. All are under the SIL Open Font License, which allows using them in commercial designs, and each is downloaded only when a text uses it. You can also pick fonts installed on your device, but other devices may not have them. The icons are from Lucide (ISC licence) and are free to use.

How do I make an animated slideshow?

Each page becomes one slide. Set how long each page shows under Page, then choose GIF, WebP or Video in Export with the width, frame rate and an optional crossfade. The animation takes the shape of the first page; pages with another shape are fitted inside with bars in a colour you choose. Video is saved as MP4 (H.264) where the browser can encode it, otherwise as WebM; browsers without WebCodecs cannot make video.

Can I make print-ready A4 or Letter pages?

Choose A4, Letter, A5 or A3 and a print resolution of 150 or 300 dpi. The PDF page then has the exact paper size. There is no bleed area or crop marks, so keep important content a few millimetres away from the edges if a print shop trims the sheet.

Does it work on a phone?

Yes. The panels stack under the canvas, you move layers with one finger, pinch to zoom, and drag empty space to scroll. A larger screen with a mouse is more comfortable for detailed layouts.

How many pages can a design have?

Up to 100 pages, each with its own size. Very large pages export at up to 16384 pixels per side, which is a browser limit.
